• In Southern Asia, influenza detections overall decreased slightly, with influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 viruses
predominant and only few influenza A(H3N2) and influenza B (Victoria lineage where determined) detections
reported. Bangladesh and Pakistan reported influenza A(H3N2) and influenza B detections. The Maldives and
Nepal reported influenza A(H3N2) and A(H1N1)pdm09 detections. India reported mainly influenza
A(H1N1)pdm09, some A(H3N2) and influenza B viruses. Afghanistan and Sri Lanka reported sporadic
detections of influenza A(H1N1)pdm09 and influenza A(H3N2) respectively.
