• In South-East Asia, influenza activity continued to be reported across most countries this reporting period.
Increasing trends were reported in Lao People’s Democratic Republic (PDR), and Thailand, while detections
decreased or remained stable in Malaysia, the Philippines and Singapore. In Lao PDR, activity was due to
influenza B/Victoria lineage and A(H3N2) viruses, while elsewhere, influenza A(H3N2) predominated. ILI and
SARI activity also increased in Lao PDR.
