The Respiratory Datamart system is used as a sentinel laboratory surveillance tool,
monitoring all major respiratory viruses.
In week 3 of 2023, out of the 12,596 respiratory specimens reported through the
Respiratory DataMart System (14 out of 16 laboratories), 863 samples were positive for
SARS-CoV-2 with an overall positivity of 6.9%, (the previous week: 6.5%). The highest
positivity was seen in those aged 65 years and over at 9.4%.
Flu positivity decreased from 3.3% in week 4 to 2.6% in week 5, highest positivity seen
in the 15 to 44 years old age group at 5.3%. 185 samples tested positive for influenza
(28 flu A(H3), 3 flu A(H1N1)pdm09, 75 flu A(not subtyped) and 79 flu B).
