• In temperate South America, influenza activity continued to decrease and predominantly influenza A virus
detections were reported with the majority A(H3N2) among those subtyped.
• SARI activity, which was driven by RSV and SARS-CoV-2 and other non-influenza respiratory viruses, decreased in
Chile, Paraguay and Uruguay though remained between low and moderate levels.
• Percent positivity for influenza was below the seasonal threshold, except in Chile where it remained at low levels.
SARS-CoV-2 percent positivity continued to increase in Argentina and Chile.
