• In Southern Asia, influenza activity decreased this period mainly due to decreased detections in Iran (Islamic
Republic of), where predominantly influenza A(H3N2) and few influenza B detections were reported. Influenza
detections decreased in Sri Lanka, with all seasonal subtypes co-circulating. In Pakistan, influenza detections
of mainly A(H1N1)pdm09 and B/Victoria lineage viruses continued to be reported at a moderate level. In other
reporting countries, influenza detections remained low.
